About WEP Ghana
Empowering women and communities through environmental action and sustainable development
Our Mission
Building a sustainable future through women-led environmental action
Our Story
Women Environmental Programme (WEP) Ghana is a country chapter of Women Environmental Programme (WEP), a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political, non-religious and voluntary organization headquartered in Nigeria.
WEP was formed in April 1997 by a group of women in Kaduna State, Nigeria in response to environmental challenges. Today, WEP Ghana continues this legacy by addressing the complex and interconnected challenges of climate change, food insecurity, and natural resource degradation.
These challenges disproportionately affect women, children and youth in Ghana, making our mission more critical than ever.
